Japanese ambassador says 'adieu' to Cameroon

The outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Cameroon, Tsutomu Aria has organised a special goodbye dinner at his residence in Yaounde.

During the special evening, H.E Tsutomu Aria thanked Cameroonians for their warmth and friendliness during his over three-year stay in the country.

The dinner was also an occasion for the outgoing Ambassador to recount the development projects successfully carried out during his tenure in Cameroon.

Amongst these projects are; road constructions, rehabilitation projects and construction of primary schools and health centres. Japan and Cameroon, also during this period, signed a number of cooperative agreements to reinforce these ties.

Ambassador Tsutomu Aria expressed the desire to include the private sector and small and medium sized enterprises in Cameroon’s development framework. The Japanese Diplomat acknowledged the cultural diversity of the country, its fertile soils and the enthusiasm of its population.

He promised to encourage his country to help Cameroon improve on its rice cultivation techniques.

The dinner was attended by top government officials, including the Minister of Agriculture and Rural development, Essimi Menye.
