Journalist Fernando d’Almeida is dead

The teacher, poet, literary critic, was found dead in his room Monday by his son. He had visited Aimé Césaire, to which he had devoted his last book (Dans l’ailleurs de l’ailleurs).

The author of "L’évangile du coït" and "L’ouvert de l’ultime", was found dead Monday morning in his room at his family home at Bonamoussadi district. He died at the age of 60.

"His son was to run an errand for him this morning at the University as he had to complete a folder", noted a source.

He had gone to see him see for this mission when he found him dead. The recipient of the Grand prix de Poésie "Léopold Sédar Senghor" (2008) likely succumbed to an evil festering in it for a few years. He leaves to posterity a huge legacy in his writings.
