Former minister of Justice and keeper of Seal, Hon. Justice Itoe Mutanga, thanked the Head of State Paul Biya for bestowing confidence on him by appointing him as board chairman Of the country’s second employer after the state, CDC.
He made the appreciation during a press briefing in Kumba following a presidential decree appointing him. Hon. Itoe, replaces late Tata Okiah Elangwe Namata who served for over a decade.
Talking to the press after the news broke out over state radio, the newly appointed board chairman who was amongst the dignitaries to welcome the Secretary of State for public Health in charge of endemic and pandemic diseases, Alim Hayatou in Kumba for the official launching of the seven round immunization campaign against polio could not control his emotion.
He disclosed that though it was not the right time to make an official statement to the press, he however hinted that apart from being overwhelmed with joy over his appointment, he promised to put his best in order to show gratitude to the Head of State.
His appointment was received with a lot of enthusiasm by some elite and politicians of the Division. Reacting to the appointment, Chief Motase David Ngoh, former speaker of the National Assembly said that the nomination was timely and even long overdue. He called on all to give him the necessary collaboration so that he succeeds in his functions.
