Kate Sawa Youth festival calls for the preservation of national unity

The festival, Kate Sawa Youth or Sawa youth cultural festival, whose festivities begin Saturday, February 7 at Lendi, 5th town of Douala calls for the preservation of national unity.

It is an event during which young people without distinction of origin celebrate Kate's ideology, which promote the return to cultural roots and ancestral cultural values.

It is imperative more than ever to welcome at the moment when Cameroon is defending its integrity against the Islamist sect Boko Haram.

The word "Sawa", is not exclusive but rather inclusive, as Kouoh Songue, Coordinator of the Centre pointed out, "it is true that it is to gather all the youth from Sawa, but do not forget that there are young people from other cultures who find themselves within Sawa.

It is therefore to further unite to create links between communities in Cameroon. Continuing the momentum of his logic of inclusion, Kouoh Songue added, "later, Kate Sawa Youth could go north." Kate Centre for its part has three branches; Kribi, Nkongsamba, Yaounde.

The Kate Sawa Youth 2015 which is the 2nd edition after the takeover last year, will continue on the path of awakening. Opening on Saturday, February 7 with the great Carnival of youth where over 30 traditional dance groups and cultural associations will host the 5th Douala arteries, Makepe roundabout at the multi-purpose centre of Kate at Lendi.

That same day, an innovation will be unveiled, Mwaye magazine. "It is a medium that tells the story of Kate." It is in a logic of sharing. It is a question for us to take advantage of this opening to ensure that young people are much more informed," said Albert Essaka, president of the Organizing Committee of the Kate Sawa Youth.
