Lawyers on Marafa's trial unpaid

Despite the multiple arrests of Justin Gwanmesia, Secretary General at the Ministry of justice, Alamine Ousmane Mey refuses to honour the commitments of the State.

After the reading of the correspondence N ° 942 CE, CS, SG, MJ dated September 05, 2014, and having for object: case of MP and State of Cameroon against Marafa Hamidou Yaya, Yves Michel Fotso and other for misappropriation of public funds, for fees payable to masters Ngongo Ogundare Martin and Nomo Beyala (proceedings before the supreme court), it is clear that the two lawyers handling the above case, to defend its interests, have not been paid.

In two other separate correspondence, relating to another part of the Mesh Onguene folder, proceedings pending before the criminal tribunal (CHT), the SG of the Minister of justice correspondence N ° 162/CD/CS/SG/MJ of July 23, 2013 and December 23, 2013 1708/CF/CS/SG/MJ, advertising once more the payment of the fees of the two lawyers at the same amount, 20 million CFA FRANCS.

In a fifth case, involving the public prosecutor's Office and the State of Cameroon (CAMTEL) against Djibril Traore, for misappropriation of public funds, the two lawyers, once more made, claim of over 20 million Swiss Francs from the State of Cameroon. What justified July 23, 2013, other correspondence (N ° 162/CD/CS/SG/MJ) signed by the SG of MINJUSTICE.

According to a framework of the Directorate of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of finance, speaking on anonymity on the subject, in the absence of the head of this Department Mr. Sidiki Mougnal, halted the payment of the fees of the lawyers committed by the State to defend its interests, pending several prerequisites.
