Limbe Barbers Association joins fight against HIV/AIDS

Following the recent election of members of the new executive of the Limbe Barbers Association, members have resolved to join the Ministry of Public Health and other Associations to fight against HIV/AIDS as they strongly believe that the virus can easily be transmitted through untreated shaving machines and wrong use of shaving products.

Kennedy Ebue was elected as president alongside six other executive members to manage the affairs of the Association.

The president-elect revealed to the press that he was very happy for the choice the people made and promised to work to work in collaboration with his executive.

He also used this opportunity to call on all barbers to be united and to respect the constitution of the association because, unity bring development in any field of work.

In the work domain, he said shaving nowadays is no longer for school drop outs but for those who have attained a certain level of education given the fact that there are a lot of techniques and instructions on the products that are used which requires the use of the brain.

Talking about the health aspect of the profession, the newly elected bureau called on all the barbers to be very conscious and understand the fact that shaving machines which are not disinfected before use can lead to the spread of HIV’AIDS. Therefore they were all reminded to use detergents on their machines before and after use.
