The Indomitable Lionesses who recently won silver at the just ended Afrobasket Women in Yaounde are under the threat of a sack from Hotel Mont Febe in Yaounde on Monday, October 5, 2015.

The historic basketball team that won all their games in the continental basketball competition till they were beaten in the final by Senegal demanded a raise in their bonuses or remain checked-in at the Hotel Mont Febe till their concerns are addressed.

Their bonus, we understand, is FCFA 2 million which is far less than what the Volleyball team was paid after their continental competition (FCFA 11 million) and that of the football team (FCFA 21 million).

A source close to the team indicated that despite their protest for a raise, no official from the Sports ministry has spoken to them and the Hotel managers threaten to call the police to "physically remove them" if they do not leave.

Officials of the Federation of Cameroon Basketball, Fecabasket, led by president Samuel Nduku, have also abandoned the players who made Cameroon proud in the past month.

The source at the Hotel Mont Febe said Fecabasket officials led by Samuel Nduku have ordered the Hotel to stop serving food to the players who camped at the hotel.

In a telephone interview by Cameroon-Info.Net on Sunday evening, the Secretary-General of Fecabasket, Camille Njoh Ekiti, condemned the action of the Lionesses accusing them of "trying to incite people".

Camille Njoh Ekiti said the FCFA 2 million bonus was decided long before the end of the competition of which the Lionesses agreed, adding that Fecabasket is not in charge of issues of bonuses.

The stranded Indomitable Lionesses have been left to their fate at the Hotel Mont Febe while they await an intervention or a sack by the end of the day. Some players have threatened not to participate in the qualifying tournament to Rio 2016.
