MINADER Staff Drilled On Programme Budget

Regional and Divisional Delegates and other senior officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) from the North West, Littoral, West and South West Regions have been drilled on the functioning of the programme budget. A three-day capacity building workshop under the coordination of the Director of Financial Resources and Assets in MINADER, Mohamadou Saoudi, began in Bafoussam, West Region on July 17, 2013. Opening the workshop, the Permanent Secretary in the West Governor's office, Mooh Emile Simon told the participants to carefully acquaint themselves with the new programme budget system, which he said, will help them manage the government resources placed at their disposal with all efficiency.

The Director of Financial Resources and Assets in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, MohamadouSaoudi, said the workshop was coming up at a time decentralisation was operational in the country. He said vote holders in the ministry must know the concept of programme budget, how to execute and evaluate it and learn the various management strategies to ensure the sustainability of the programme budget. Participants treated topics like, "the techniques of drawing up a budget," "Main concepts and advantages of programme budget," "Budget engagement and payment procedures by vote holders," and "Budget expenditure and balance accounts."
