The Minister Delegate at the Presidency of the Republic in charge of Defense Joseph Betti Assomo this Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, paid a visit to some 118 wounded Soldiers and Civilians at the Yaounde First Military Region Hospital.
They are victims of the war against Boko Haram in the Far North Region and also the UN peacekeeping Mission in the Central African Republic.
On behalf of the Head of States President Paul Biya, Mr. Joseph Betti Assomo went around the wards from bed to bed, comforted and wished them a speedy recovery.
Mr.Lawrence Mbanen a second class soldier among the 118, like most of them, expressed gratitude to the kind gestures. He will be undergoing a second operation on his leg.
The Minister also congratulated the personnel of the first Military Region Hospital for the efforts put together to ensure the good health of the wounded victims, assuring that the technical platform of the hospital will continue to be modernized to enable them to work in better conditions.
Since the fight against Boko Haram, began, 729 injured soldiers and Civilians have been evacuated to the hospital of the First Military Region in Yaounde, 129 of them being Chadian Soldiers.
