MPs release over 45m F to support Boko Haram war

Parliamentarians have donated an amount of 45,150,000 CFAF to the accounting officer of the National Assembly on Saturday April 11, in the conference room of the general secretariat of this institution. The ceremony to hand over the cash donation was done in the presence of Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

This gesture represents the contribution of the deputies without distinction as to which political party is in favour of national defence forces. It was delivered to the Registrar of this institution for deposit into the special account opened for this purpose at the public Treasury on the instruction of the president of the Republic.

The ceremony was chaired by the president of the Chamber, the RT. Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, in the presence of representatives of all political parties represented in this institution. "It is a gesture of solidarity that no Member should avoid," the president of the National Assembly said in a brief statement.

Robert Bapooh Lipót stressed that this gesture is part of the national consensus against the Islamist sect. We remember already that on November 27, 2014, a special plenary meeting to offer support to the defence forces had been organized within the Chamber of the glass Palace in Ngoa-Ekellé.
