MTN told to provide ramp at entrance for disabled

Awah Cletus Forbuzie alias AC risky of the consumers’ protection organization has called on the management of one Cameroons Mobile company MTN Cameroon to provide ramps on the entrance of the Regional Office in Bamenda.

The staircase leading up to the office are too many too high for persons living with disabilities to access the office with ease.

Persons living with disabilities are not left out of seeking services and use of the digital information technology in the country. The blind, and the lame both use the mobile telephone so should have access to this services at the regional office.

Accessibility to these services for persons living with disabilities is of prime importance given that everybody is only temporarily upright for circumstances can lead to some form of disability. Persons living with disabilities equally have enormous contribution in nation building.

This action by Awah Cletus Forbuzie is in line with the advocacy action carried out by the Socio-economic empowerment of persons living with disabilities SEEPD coordinated by Awa Jacque Chirac. The SEEPD program has put in place enabling environment within school setup for inclusive education around the country.

For participatory development in communities, persons living with disabilities are being empowered with skills on income generating activities. By this action many children living with disabilities are in public schools and adults living with disabilities have been removed from streets begging in to various craftsmanship.
