Major-general Roland Mambou Deffo laid to rest

Major-general Roland Mambou Deffo was led to his final resting place on Saturday in Baham. The ceremony took place in the presence of Jean Baptiste Bokam, Secretary of State to the Minister of defence, in charge of the mounted police and the personal representative of the head of State.

Before thousands of people, including members of the Government, the Parliament, the military hierarchy, parents and friends, a religious ceremony was said by representatives of the Evangelical church of Cameroon and those of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon.

On that occasion, there was the message from the head of State to the family of the deceased. Another message addressed to his wife, Anne Désirée Magdalena, was read by the prefect of the Department of the Hauts-Plateaux, Luc Ndongo.

Paul Biya saluted the memory of a man who was part of the first generation of the Cameroonian officers who contributed effectively to the development of the Cameroonian armed forces. "The Cameroon defense forces just lost one of their great values," the president of the Republic said essentially.

Recognition which probably earned the diseases a posthumous award, the cross of the military valor of Cameroon with quotation in the order of the Nation.

It was presented Friday during the tribute that the defence forces accorded him at the Court of honor of the Brigade's headquarters, by the Minister in the Presidency responsible for defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o.
