A man in Mambanada, a village in the Kumba III municipality, whose name The Post could not immediately get, was fined FCFA 120,000 and 20 bottles of beer for reportedly insulting Chief Samuel Aduma.

According to eyewitness accounts, the accused later on got royal pardon and was allowed to pay just 20 bottles of beer as fine for abusing his traditional ruler.

The Post learnt that the said man rained insults on the traditional ruler at a baby shower which the Chief came to celebrate with a newborn.

It is reported that Aduma‘s casual dressing, comprising sandals and a circle-like framed face cap, was what ignited his subject to insult him as putting on bathing slippers and a funny cap.
