An interdepartmental mission for launching the operation of construction was held on Tuesday in the far North.
After the severe floods in 2012, the head of State instructed the departments in charge to proceed with the resettlement of the victims. This is what drives the mission of the Working Group interdepartmental ad hoc coordination of development of sites of relocation, construction of infrastructure and construction of housing for people affected by the emergency control project against flooding (MOHAMAD) in the region of the far North.
The delegation led by Ahmadou Sardaouna, Secretary General of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (Minhdu), stated in its specification the construction of 200 housing units-drivers.
They intend to accommodate 1,600 households affected. These works, in emergencies, take into account construction, not only housing-drivers, but also spaces for leisure, markets, schools, churches, mosques etc. with the involvement of other actors such as the Mindcaf, Mintp, Minepded, Minmap, Mincommerce, Mipromalo, local elected officials, population, etc.
The objective of this diversity of actors, according to Ahmadou Sardaouna, head of the mission, is to multiply the ideas and get everyone involved so that the project knows a success which will satisfy the population's, main beneficiaries.
In addition, he said that the resettlement of other claims will be done gradually according to the means available.
Last Wednesday, a tour on the site led the delegation to nine sites installed in four boroughs of the Mayo-Danay. Several sessions were held. Resolutions have been taken. The ad hoc group presented them last Thursday to the Governor of the far North. At the moment, beneficiaries are waiting to see how the work will progress.
