Minatd Magazine Gives Decentralisation Guidelines

The maiden edition of the bilingual news magazine of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, MINATD, entitled, "MINATD Magazine" published in August 2013 comes at the right moment to serve as the handbook for new municipal councillors and council executives to be elected next week.

The timely nature of the 52-page publication is based on the 25 questions and answers on all aspects of the decentralization process, state of execution of the process and ministries that have already transferred powers and resources to local councils, types of powers, partnerships and funding. The magazine also explains the rights and prerogatives of municipal councillors, functioning of the council session, supervisory authorities and council syndicates.

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, René Emmanuel Sadi in the editorial states that, "Though still in its first edition, MINATD magazine is a publication through which our ministry shall mark its presence in the media landscape, to better show-case actions conducted in the areas of territorial administration, civil protection and decentralization."
