Minatd urge governors of various regions to be vigilant

By opening the 2nd biannual conference of the current year, Minatd has called them to vigilance, despite the encouraging results.

"The security situation in our country, if it has changed significantly, it is due to the fact that significant measures have been taken to counter the enemy and contain it beyond our borders, but however, the situation still remains worrying." René Emmanuel Sadi noted.

In opening yesterday their 2nd biannual conference in respect of the current year, the Minister of Territorial Administration and decentralization (Minatd) was clear on the posture which they must take especially in this year-end holiday season.

In the ameliorations currently observed in the territory, Minatd noted the role of the administrative authorities, the defence and security forces, populations, and especially the "energetic and beneficial measures taken by the president of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya, head of the armed forces, to fight insecurity in the regions most affected."

In the current context, marked by the preparation of the year-end festivities, Minatd called Governors of regions to be vigilant with a view on the one hand, to consolidate the gains, and especially to cope with all possible threats in such period.

The deliberation was marked by the presence of the delegate-general for national security, Martin Mbarga Nguele and the Director central coordination at the secretariat of State to the Minister of defence, in charge of the Gendarmerie, brigade general Elokobi Daniel Njock, representing Secretary of State Jean Baptiste Bokam.

They presented to Governors the measures adopted for the occasion. According to René Emmanuel Sadi, if this period should remain festive, it only means that the whole of the national territory must be protected from harm to social peace, a peace which should extend beyond the year-end holidays.

Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi informed them on "the economics of the Emergency Plan" adopted in the Council of Ministers chaired 9 December at the Unity Palace by the president of the Republic, Paul Biya. Minepat pointed out the contributions expected from the administrative authorities for the success of this special plan, "including implementation, following the high requirements of the president of the Republic" hammered René Emmanuel Sadi.

Minatd finally invited the Governors to soak up the spirit of most laws recently passed by Parliament, and particularly amending and supplementing certain provisions of the law on security, on the Suppression of acts of terrorism and the companies authorizing the president of the Republic to proceed with the accession of Cameroon to the convention of the African Union on protection and assistance to displaced persons in Africa.
