Minhdu finalise projects for the construction of social housing

Feasibility studies for the various projects are already completed and most of the sites found.

Officials and other staff of the Department of housing and urban development (Minhdu) are already on the teeth. According to Emmanuel Angang Asongwed, Director of social housing and the promotion of the real estate of this Ministerial Department, the projects within this department are being finalized.

Feasibility studies have been completed. Most construction sites have been found, land titles in support. This is the case in the far North, Northwest, and Southwest. For other regions, the situation will be rectified in the coming days.

"We will build a mixture of single detached houses (three or four rooms), apartments in apartment buildings and duplexes", Emmanuel Angang Asongwed detailed. And with regard to duration, the Director refuses that comparing this project with that of Olembe in Yaoundé. "It was a first experience. The work took time because they had been launched without prior studies” he noted.

Minhdu noted that as soon as the funds will be made available, the construction of 1000 social housing will be launched. The work will last between eight months and one year. "It's a special statement of the head of State. We will act expeditiously. We are qualified and equipped to fulfill our mission," reassured the Director.

Although SMEs to carry out these works are not yet selected the Minhdu noted that this is not a concern. "We already have some in the viewfinder. In the regions too, we have companies that have proven their worth. It will go very quickly," promised Emmanuel Angang Asongwed.
