Mini-comice opens in Douala

More than 500 farmers and breeders of four departments answered present at this year's edition of mini-comice in Douala.

For four years, on the eve of the feasts of Christmas and New Year, a pastoral mini-comice is organised in Douala. More than 500 ranchers and farmers in the Littoral responded present at the event Friday which opened in Douala.

The market took place at the esplanade of Camtel Bépanda with products like fish, plantain, couscous, pears, watermelon, etc. The fair was officially opened Saturday, by the Minister of Agriculture and rural development, Essimi Menye, in the presence of the Governor of Littoral, Joseph Beti Assomo.

The traditional mini-comice gave the occasion for Minader to recall the pivotal role of agriculture in the development of our country. The mini-comice is also a framework for privileged exchange between producers and operators of the agricultural sector.

The Littoral is a large agricultural basin, Minader decided to assist producers in the extension of exploited areas, through a pool of heavy equipment. Farmers are also called to further gather in Gic for the Pidma project. The opening up of the major areas of production was also required.
