Minister of Employment encourages youths in agric business

The minister of employment and vocational training, Zakari Perevet has encouraged youths to engage in agriculture order to benefit from the numerous support schemes government has made available to develop the vibrant sector.

He made the call during a working visit to the Obala Institute of Agriculture and Management in the centre region.
The visit sought to establish a partnership to train and empower youths in agriculture in the Far North region.

The over 700 student of the obala Institute of agriculture which also has a secondary school assembled to listen to the minister of employment and vocational training outline the numerous opportunities agriculture offers.
Minister Zakari Perevet encouraged the youths to take advantage of the different youth assistance schemes government has put in place to support their projects.

The trainees sounded optimist with the agricultural ambitions. Most of them said they are motivated by the training and they plan to establish their own plantations and animal farms were they will also employ other youths.
The visit to the institute that trains in animal breeding, vegetable production, and transformation of agric products was also to establish a partnership to train youths in the far North region.

According to the director of the institute, the pilot program targets 9 youths who have shown interest in agriculture and livestock breeding in the far north region.

Their training and accommodation will be covered by a Swiss scholar as part of an initiative to fight radicalism among youths of the far North.
