Minister of public health launches family planning project

Minister of public health André Mama Fouda recently launched in his Department the project, Evidence to Action (E2A), project implemented by Management Sciences for Health (MSH).

The presentation made by Léa Monda, Adviser to MSH, sought to strengthen family planning in Cameroon. The project especially targets girls and also intends to ensure the follow-up of birth in women.

Speaking at the occasion in the presence of development partners, the Minister said that family planning remains a major concern for the Government.

The national policy document of the population in its version of 1993 fixed a specific goal, promote and facilitate voluntary access to family planning services to ensure the control of fertility. Including through the establishment of these services throughout the national territory.

Despite the recorded achievements, much remains to be done recognized André Mama Fouda, before adding: "it is for this that the Cameroonian Government welcomes with great joy and enthusiasm this project."
