The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Bidoung Mpkatt has urged 1,500 participants during a 2-day national workshop to harmonize methods of intervention in the youth sector.
The seminar that ran from the 29th to 30th September 2014 was attended by employees of the ministry and other ministries was geared towards the attainment of the ministry’s goal in building good citizens.
Most of the partakers who are officials of the central and external services of the Ministry used the platform to make recommendations that will facilitate greater involvement of youths in development issues.
Closing the ceremony, the Minister of youth and civic education stressed on the need for youth leaders to impart to others values and morals that will guarantee the country’s dream of becoming an exemplary nation.
He also disclosed the Ministry’s plan to get more youths creative, so to shun youth related-ills like gambling, idleness and disrespect of values.
To the employees, Minister Bidoung Mpkatt challenged them to be more committed in mobilizing young people at the base towards positive action and the spirit of nationhood.
Participants took the 2-days to draft strategies that will get the Cameroonian youth active in the development of the country.
Meanwhile, a participant from the North West Delegation of Youth Affairs praised the initiative and expressed the wish to extend the knowledge to the youths in his community.
