As part of its continuous training programme for personnel, the ministry of Sports and Physical Education organized a one-day training seminar for newly recruited staff of the ministry who constitutes the 2014 batch from the higher institute of Youth and Sports, INJS-Yaounde.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the seminar at the INJS campus in Yaounde, the Minister Adoum Garoua advised the graduates that there was a difference between student and working lives, urging them to make good use of the training provided so as to build successful careers.

Justifying the need for the seminar, the minister said most of the new staff will be put at the service of the ministries of education, hence the need for them to understand administrative habits and practices so as to be able to implement the programmes conceived at the level of the ministry on the field.

He urged them to adopt responsible behaviours so as not to tarnish the image of civil servants.

The inspector of pedagogy at the ministry of Sports and Physical Education, Dohbobga Macias disclosed that the training was going to dwell on issues such as the status of the public service, the rights and obligations of civil servants, disciplinary and compensation mechanisms, the integrated system of managing both personnel and financial resources, the notion of a professional corps and professional ethics.
