More than 40% exam success rate recorded - Report

According to statistics presented by the Office of the baccalaureate, Cameroon (Obc) at the end of the 2014 session, national success rate amounted to 40.01%, as compared to 44.69% in 2013, a difference of four points.

These statistics were made known following the publication on July 30, of the probatoire results of all series and combined specialties.

Again this year, the curve of the said review turned downwards. However, general education achieved a performance of 30.48%, while the series and specialties of industrial education obtained a result of 22.61%.

The series and trade specialties, meanwhile, recorded a performance of 43.16% or a total of 39.27%, slightly increasing compared to the results in 2013, with the success rate of 39.18%.

The curve of the baccalaureate on its part has witnessed a slight growth.

General education obtained a percentage of 55.11% while for series and trade specialties, the success rate is substantially higher, 62.05% giving a total of 54.64% as compared to 53.92% at the last session. The increase is also noticeable at the level of the professional sectors.

The patent of industrial and commercial vocational studies conducted an admirable progression, with a success rate of 36.36% compared to 7.50% in 2013.

With regard to industrial and commercial professional patents, it come out with a success rate of 61.29% against 42.95% last year.
