Moroccan Ambassador At MINREX

The Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum yesterday September 12, 2013 received in audience the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Cameroon, Lahcen Saile. Nothing filtered out of the over 30-minute in-camera discussions between the two officials.

Cooperation between Rabath and Yaounde has been fruitful with high level exchange visits.

Both countries have sealed cooperation bonds with the hallmark being a Cameroon-Morocco Joint Commission that held in September 2012. Moroccan investments registered an uptrend in Cameroon as fallouts of such meetings.

Morocco and Cameroon established diplomatic relations at the level of Ambassadors in 1966. The judicial framework governing relations between the two countries is based on agreements in the sectors of culture, trade and tourism. The first session of Cameroon-Morocco Joint Commission of January 2007 in Rabat ended with signing of agreements to reciprocally encourage and protect investments, air transport; professional training; and higher education. The two countries also signed a protocol agreement in urban development and housing, as well as a framework agreement on energy, mines and geology.
