Musonge tells Kumba Gov’t Delegate to suffocate SDF Councils

Peter Mafany Musonge, CPDM Senate Group Leader and Grand Chancellor of National Orders, has told the Government Delegate to the Kumba City Council, Victor Nkelle Ngoh to suffocate the SDF run councils in Kumba so that they will be unable to deliver on their campaign promises.

During a South West Regional Information Seminar for CPDM Mayors and Presidents of CPDM Council Groups organized in Buea, recently, the Dean of the Senate, Senator Nfon V.E. Mukete said the CPDM party is slowing losing tempo in Kumba.

He said the woes and dwindling fortunes of party came to a head when the Social Democratic Front (SDF) party swept all the three sub-divisional councils in Kumba during the September 30, 2013 municipal and legislative elections.

Mukete said the party in Meme is on its knees and hasn’t the necessary wherewithal to pull crowds for mass rallies. This coupled with the fact that the CPDM barons in Kumba are faulted for the blunder that has crippled the party.

After listening to Nfon Mukete, Musonge said “As far as Kumba is concerned, we are now the opposition, and not the ruling party. But with the time ahead of us before the next elections, we have to work to once more conquer Kumba for the CPDM.”

According to Musonge, the CPDM heavyweights in Kumba have to get to work, for as he puts it, “there is no time to waste”.

As leader of the CPDM Central Committee Delegation, he challenged the Government Delegate to the Kumba City Council to do all to ensure that the SDF loses grounds in Kumba.

“…we advise the Government Delegate to the Kumba City Council to know how to do it. You are the one sharing the resources. You have to look for ways to handle the problem,” Musonge said.

Musonge quickly called for caution in the handling of party affairs in Kumba, stationing that like elsewhere in the South West, the party has to be made stronger.

His words: “…time for useless and vain quarrels is over. As mayors, you know better: the people, the voters, including our many militants, will judge you by the number of kilometres of roads built or maintained, the number of schools built, and the number of people who enjoy proper health care and good shelter…that is your role. That is your mission. That is your duty.

It is a collective duty. You have to work very closely and collaborate with Municipal Councillors, Senators and Members of the National Assembly, Administrative and Traditional Authorities and Local Party Officials.”

Given that Nkelle Ngoh listened to the piece of advice from the senior party baron with wrapped attention, the three SDF-run sub-divisional councils in Kumba are in for rough moments, especially with regards to subvention from the City Council.
