NADP, PAP Form Coalition in Manyu

PAP supporters will vote NADP list for Mamfe Council and NADP will vote PAP in legislative election.

The coalition message was clear when 47-year-old Arrey Eyong Ashu of the National Alliance for Democracy and Progress, NADP mounted the rostrum in Nfaitok, Bachuo Ntai, Etemetek, Nchang and Besongabang to canvas votes for his Mamfe Central Council list.

"Militants of the People's Action Party, PAP will vote for NADP Council list in Mamfe, while NADP supporters will vote for PAP legislative list", he campaigned. Meanwhile, the ruling Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement (CPDM) which is competing in all the four Councils of Manyu and has equally put up a parliamentary list of three for the entire Manyu is multiplying its door-to-door technique to overturn the vapour.

Professor Agbor Tabi Peter, leader of Manyu CPDM campaign team, and list member for Eyumojock Council, has shuttled to Eyumojock to drum his party's voice and call for votes come Monday, September 30. Campaign caravans continued their rounds in Mamfe town on September 25 using high-pitched speakers to reach the electorate. On the whole, the targeted electorate for Manyu Division is 44,705 spread through the four Sub-divisions of Akwaya (12,516), Eyumojock (13,885), Mamfe (9,747), and Tinto (8,557).

The Divisional Delegate for the election organizing body Elections Cameroon, ELECAM, Eyong Zacharia Nkwo, told Cameroon Tribune that all material would reach destination by weekend. He said the polling stations for Manyu numbered 88 in Akwaya, 74 in Eyumojock, 39 in Mamfe Central, and 81 in Tinto Subdivisions.
