The National Communication Council (NCC) has organised an extraordinary session, the first since the appointment of a new President and Vice President.
The session took place on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the NCC headquarters in Bastos, Yaounde.
During the meeting, some pertinent issues were reviewed including the sanctions slammed on the TV channel, Afrique Media.
In relation to the latter, the President of the NCC, Peter Essoka stated that the sanctions shall remain in force.
He added that the media organ has to present a public apology to the NCC and acknowledge its irresponsible practice.
Peter Essoka also reemphasised that the NCC shall continue to train and sensitise media practitioners on the respect of professional ethics.
The meeting was also room for the introduction of the new Vice President of the Council, Joseph Janvier Rene Mvoto Obounou.
The General Assembly of the National Communication Council and some administrators of Afrique Media took part in the meeting.
