NW CPDM Mayors Trained On Performance Enhancement

Harmony is the key word that summed up a seminar on best practices to enhance the performance of Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM Mayors in the North West Region on June 14, 2014. In effect, the CPDM Central Committee is to thank for the seminar which had a lot to inspire CPDM Mayors to excel in local development and the understanding of the ruling party.

CPDM Central Committee team leader to the seminar, Senator Simon Achidi Achu set the pace for the training that was conceived to provide political support to CPDM Mayors. It was all about sensitizing CPDM Mayors on their responsibilities as local elected officials of the majority political party while stressing the need for smooth and mutually beneficial relations between CPDM Mayors, MPs and locally elected party officials.

Programmed at a time when security threats are staring the nation on the face, CPDM Central Committee team leader, Senator Achidi Achu took time off to urge the Mayors to rise to expectation, play front roles and stand by the country's security and defence forces to check such threats.

Senator Nkwain Francis, Minister Ama Tutu Muna and Shey Jones Yembe later trained participating Mayors, Senators, MPs and traditional rulers on the responsibilities of CPDM Mayors, CPDM Mayors and party influence and relations between CPDM Mayors, MPs, administrative and traditional authorities. The team's Charge de Mission, Ntumfor Fru Jonathan told Cameroon Tribune that it was all about empowering CPDM Mayors to achieve, consolidate the party's influence and check political opposition at local level.

In the short and long of it, participants retired with lessons on how to achieve good relations, the functioning of the CPDM council group and the importance of communication in management.
