NW administration converge on Nkambe for coordination meeting

Nkambe, capital of Donga Mantung Division was on June 6th turned into the regional capital of the region as NW governor, Lele L’afrique Adolph accompanied by the Divisional Officers and security chiefs of the seven divisions converged on the town for the regional security coordination meeting.

Northwest governor Lele Adolf Afrique said the meeting will help the people of the northwest to create a stronger and united security front against terrorism. He reminded all of the presence of Boko Haram close to our national borders.

Responding to the problems faced by the people of Nkambe and Donga Mantung as a whole, he called on them to remain patient, but said government is working towards providing a permanent solution to the horrible state of road between Kumbo and Nkambe, address the current power outages that has gripped the entire division amongst others.

While promising to channel their concerns to hierarchy, he advised the various council heads to tackle minor projects like water supply. The governor also called on every individual not to take the law into their hands and to collaborate with law enforcement officials by reporting any suspected individuals.

Earlier the mayor of Nkambe , Ngabir Paul Bantar presented a catalogue of problems faced by the population of the Division. He decried the poor state of infrastructures and the roads especially the Kumbo –Nkambe road, which links the division to the rest of the country, pleading on the government to include the road in the 2035 emergency plan.

Present at the meeting which was mostly held in-camera were the Senior Divisional officers of Mezam, Momo, Menchum, Boyo, Bui, Ngoketunjia and Donga Mantung accompanied by their respective police chiefs and Gendarmerie commanders, heads of various military units and the Rapid Intervention Battalion of the army known as BIR.
