The 27th session of the National Organizing Committee in charge of the Pilgrimage to Mecca was held on 28th January 2015 in Yaounde.
The meeting which was held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization was chaired by its Minister René Emmanuel Sadi who is also chairman of the National Hajj Commission.
The National Commission of Hajj was created on 7th January 2003, in order to better organize and supervise the trip to Mecca.
During the extraordinary session, Minister Rene Emmanuel Sadi particularly lauded the efforts of the Saudi Arabia Embassy, the Cameroon Airlines- Camair-Co, the Ministry of Transport and Finance for working hard to ensure success during the last year’s Pilgrimage which took more than 4,500 Pilgrims to Mecca.
The meeting which sought to achieve a hitch free pilgrimage for 2015 laid down the 2014 trip as a springboard for success.
Registration for the trip to Mecca begins on 15th April 2015 after which the passports of Pilgrims will be forwarded to the Embassy on 31st July and to be collected from 20th August 2015.
Time for departure has been slated for 1st to 10th September; meanwhile the pilgrims shall be expected to return from the 1st to the 10th of October 2015.
