New-Bell prison inmates receive church assistance

Inmates of the Douala Central Prison in New Bell were recently given reason to smile. Besides offering several sacks of rice, salt, soap, clothes, toiletries and several other basic necessities to the inmates, all assemblies that make up District XII of the Apostolic Church with headquarters in Bonapriso, Douala, also held a worship service with them.

While handing over the gifts that were distributed to various sections of the prison by the National President of Prison Care, Pastor Essame Paul, the District Supervisor, Rev. Pastor Anthony Obi Anayo, flanked by two assembly pastors and wife, Gladys Obi, among other Christians, told the congregation of prisoners that without having them at heart, the church will not visit them.

“The church will not be complete without prisoners. When the head of the apostles, Peter, was in prison as stated in Acts 12, the church supported him. Such support cannot only be limited to prayers; reason why we have brought this material donation,” he told them.

In his highlights of John 3:16, Pastor Caleb of the New Bell Apostolic Church Assembly, said whatever the offences they might have committed, God extended His hand of mercy to the world by sending His only Son Jesus Christ to save mankind.
