New combat strategy against Boko H proves effective

Blows given to the Islamist sect lately are the result of actions taken after the Paris Summit. Recently, the members of the Islamist sect Boko Haram who dared to violate the territorial integrity of Cameroon in the far North region underwent significant setbacks. Reliable military sources revealed that about a hundred of Islamists have been killed since Monday on the battlefield.

The good news is that this was as a result of the new combat strategy designed and implemented by the head of the armed forces, President Paul Biya. He is remembered on August 14, 2014, to have signed important texts out of which the fourth military region was created, military areas reorganized and new officials appointed.

Specifically, there was the break-up of the joint military region no. 3 (RMIA3) into two entities. It gave birth to another joint military region, the RMIA4 with a command post in Maroua, capital of the region of the far North.

"The 3rd joint military region was very large and given the current geostrategic reality, it was difficult to ensure a steady flow of orders between the head - region-place while some operations were taking place at the level of the far North", noted the head of the communications division at the Ministry of defence, Lieutenant-Colonel Didier Badjeck.

It was a set of parameters taken by the head of State, Commander-in-Chief, who decided to break out the 3rd RMIA in two military regions. "However, the RMIA3 covers the territory of the administrative regions of the North and Adamawa, with command post at Garoua, Mayo-Giulia Department in the region of the North, which depends on the RMIA 4".

"Operational interests can never be lean administrative interests," he indicated. Also, indicated in the presidential texts signed in August, the creation of the fourth region of mounted police. It is the consequence of the outbreak of the RMIA3 that the military n ° 4 joint region was created. As the military region, its headquarters is located in Maroua, the capital of the region of the far North.

Also considering it multilaterally, better coordination in their operational actions of the riparian States in Nigeria would gradually push the Boko Haram members to surrender. Important measures are still to be done with the same mindset.
