New look Parcours Vita Commissioned in Bamenda

Defence Minister prescribes patriotism to preserve special gift of the Head of State.

Dedicated to the practice of keep fit sporting activities, leisure and good health, the new look Bamenda Parcours Vita was on July 19, 2013 commissioned by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defense, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o.

It was a rare moment for the population of metropolitan Bamenda and neighbourhoods to sound off about the special gift of the Head of state, President Paul Biya with the wonderful space, attractive and architectural jewel to see. It was against this backdrop that Defence Minister, Alain Mebe Ngo'o challenged the population to preserve the precious asset in their demonstration of patriotism and love for general interest. Credited for work well done, the Minister saluted the Military Engineering Corps whose ingenuity and creative aptitude led by Lt Col. Jackson Kamgain was employed to complete the facility. They were hailed for their overall involvement in nation building.

It was the Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council, Ndumu Nji Vincent who told the visiting Minister that the population is proud of Paul Biya, President of the Republic who has never relented with actions that inspire the welfare and growth of Bamenda and the North West region. He appealed for assistance and funds to ensure sustainable maintenance, management and appropriate personnel to handle security issues around the facility which is now the property of the Bamenda City Council.

Constructed following instructions of the Head of State, the Bamenda Parcours Vita covers an area of 20 hectares in the neighbourhood of Ntamulung. Access is free with a fenced wall of 3,200 metres, a paved tract of 3,200 metres with 19 obstacles and stations, a network of street lights, a police station, children's corner etc with Lt. Col. Jackson Kamgain as the Works Manager. Around to cheer reconstruction work and handing over of the facility to the Bamenda City Council were Governor Adolf Lele Lafrique, Senator Simon Achidi Achu, SDF National Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi, some Fons of the North West, among other officials.
