Ndop — Out of the 45,707 people who registered in Ngoketunjia Division over 40, 811 have already collected their cards registering a percentage of 90.4 per cent collection rate.
In a meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2013, Electoral Board Chairman of ELECAM, Dr Fonkam Azu'u Samuel explained that Ngoketunjia is toping the chart in voter cards distribution adding that the division's 90.4 per cent distribution rate stands above 84 per cent for the entire North West Region. He added that everything has been put in place to ensure that all works well on elections day come September 30.
On the ground, the Divisional Head of ELECAM for Ngoketunjia, Yong Charles Toh added that the over 45,000 will vote in 216 polling stations in the division. He said all the polling stations are in public schools as non is in any fons palace. As to the secret of this high distribution rate, he disclosed that they embarked on a door-to-door campaign. He said all the sub-divisional ELECAM branches were equally out during "country Sundays", village market days and meetings, "We equally work with the various political parties involved in the race," he added. He said most of the cards to be distributed belong to people who are out of the division and will obviously come and collect before election day.
He equally agreed that all materials for the twin elections are already in place just waiting for the D-day. According to statistics, as of September 16, Babessi Sub division registered 13,404 voters of which 12,594 have collected their voters cards given a success rate of 94 per cent Balikumbat Subdivision registered 10,653 voters out of which 10,119 have collected their cards given the distribution rate of 95 per cent and Ndop Central Sub-division registered 21,650 out of which 18,098 have already collected their voters cards.
