Nine Cmrn'ians abducted at Garoua-Boulai by CAR rebels

The rebels are demanding the release of their leader Abdoulaye Miskine arrested September 16, 2013 by elements of the territorial Surveillance Directorate in Bertoua.

Nine people including a village chief to Garoua-Boulai at the East of Cameroon were kidnapped Saturday morning by fighters of the Democratic Front of the Central African people (FDPC), the Seleka splinter group created by the General Abdoulaye Miskine.

According to authorities of the region of the rising sun, the nine hostages are all from the town of Béthanie, village on the border with the Central African Republic. The nine including the head of the village went to the field when men of Abdoulaye Miskine launched an assault in their village.

"The hostages initially were ten, the rebels later release a lady who was asked to bring along their claims," indicatd the safe source.

"We are on alert and we are mobilized to ensure that the hostages are released safe and sound", continues the source. As a reminder, Abdoulaye Miskine was arrested in a hotel in Bertoua by elements of the Direction of Surveillance of territory (DST) Cameroon, Monday, September 16, 2013. He was then taken to Yaoundé, under surveillance.
