North Cameroon engulfed in dense fog

News of drastic climate change in the North has been reported from various quarters in Cameroon. This condition is gradually being felt in the North.

During these few days, the populations in the three northern regions have witnessed a sudden climate change characterized by a cold, wind, dust and fog throughout the day. The regions concerned are served an unusual temperature of 15-18°, a large deviation from the usual temperature of 45 °.

To adapt to the new climate, people are clad in several clothing pieces especially sweaters, trousers and clothes that cover most parts of the body. Mufflers have become popular and purchased by many to be used against the dust and cold.

The streets are emptied early of their occupants because the cold weather; not even those who previously wore clothing showing their backs and bellies. Drinking places have been noted to close early and open to customers when the sun comes up to send some hot rays down.

Visibility especially when driving is almost zero requiring motorists to move at a snail's pace. This climate change has also been noted to affect the respiratory tract and thus easy for flu and cough to spread from one person to another.
