Bilateral relations between the Democratic Republic of Korea and Cameroon have been timid, and cognizant of this, the Ambassador of that country to Cameroon with residence in Congo Kinshasa, Ri Myong Chol, has promised his country's willingness to step up cooperation.
Ri Myong Chol told reporters on July 9, 2013 in Yaounde after an audience with the Minister of External Relations (MINREX), Prof. Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo that his coming to Cameroon was purposely to perk up ties between the two countries with the intention to explore cooperation avenues.
The Korean diplomat said his presence in Cameroon was on counts of a friendly and working visit to broaden and diversify relations between Cameroon and the DR Korea. "All we are trying to do now is to develop cooperation between both countries," Chol said, adding that he was creating contacts in the sectors of agriculture, technology, training and infrastructure development.
