The material was handed to the Speaker of the National Assembly on April 9, 2015, in Yaounde by the Chinese Ambassador.
A consignment of office materials comprising mostly of computers, printers, photocopiers and plasma television sets donated by the People’s Republic of China to the National Assembly of Cameroon were yesterday April 9, 2015, handed over to the House Speaker, Cavaye Yeguié Djibril.
Handing over the materials, the Ambassador of China to Cameroon, H.E Wei Wenhua, stated that relations between the two countries and their institutions are reinforced each passing day. While hailing Cameroon’s hospitality, the Chinese diplomat said the equipment will ameliorate working conditions at the National Assembly.
The imminent construction of a befitting edifice to host the National Assembly to be carried out by a Chinese firm, he added, will further enhance a conducive working environment. He announced that a team of Chinese experts is awaited in Cameroon in the days ahead to carry out studies for the construction.
On his part, Rt. Honourable Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, extolled the dynamic cooperation between the two countries and the two parliaments, stating that the relation is constantly being improved upon.
He commended Chinese expertise in architectural work and rejoiced that the edifice to host the head office of the National Assembly will be constructed by Chinese experts.
