The expert from the Centre for research for strategic and political studies (Creps) foresees a period of long conflict because of the unconventional nature of the war between Cameroon to the Islamist Nebula.
The Cameroonian armed forces have recorded for some time success in the war imposed on Cameroon by the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram. This was revealed by a finding of the Professor Joseph Vincent Ebodé.
In his analysis of the situation prevailing on the front of the far North, the head of the Centre of research for strategic and political studies (Creps) noted that the Cameroonian defense forces are mounted in power.
"There is a time of restructuring and reorganization, time of the rise and the occupation of the land. Now we are in time of attack and faith posture," he said. Ebodé explained that Boko Haram has more initiative, as was the case for a long time and that "our defence forces have taken control of the theatre. It is now necessary, added the geostrategist, to prohibit any initiative of Boko Haram.
Therefore, the Nigerian group now manoeuvres itself by acts of "cowardice". But there is information that may dampen the enthusiasm. It is one that concerns the duration of the confrontation with the terrorists.
Professor Ebodé noted that the conflict will be "long", but that it was "planned in advance". He added that it will take years so because the war against Boko Haram is not like a war that one book with a State which signed the surrender once he is defeated.
"It will be long and sparse, because the conflict can be worn throughout the national territory. Once they are attacked here, they decompose and are seeking to recover to prove that they are still alive even if they remain two or three. Even by fleeing, they will still throw two or three explosives behind", completed the lecturer at University of Yaoundé 2 - Soa.
