A recreational party will be organized on Saturday in the Cameroonian capital, Yaounde in honor of 300 children from Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria and Chad who lost either one or both parents due to the Nigerian extremist sect Boko Haram, the organizing committee disclosed on Tuesday.

Organized by Children’s Circle, an NGO created in 2005, the event aims to support psychologically, toddlers who are living with horrific trauma in the context of attacks and abuses perpetrated by the insurgents.

The party will feature a lunch for the children who will be offered educational games in a bid for them to improve their spelling and vocabulary as well as computer training scholarships.

In addition, a symbolic amount of money will be given to the widows of the soldiers fallen at the battle front for them “to set up small businesses and raise their children in dignity.”

“I wanted to make the war orphans smile. The move does not only concern children in Cameroon but those from Niger, Nigeria and Chad whose families are grappling with the atrocities by the extremist sect” the Chairperson of Children’s Circle, Françoise Etoa said, adding that she has benefited from the support of major French and Cameroonian businesses.

A trained notary and promoter of a lobbying firm, Françoise Etoa has with her structure began a partnership with scholars, Paul Camus and Jean Paul Dutourd, by supporting the spread of the French language through the establishment of libraries both in the Francophone and non-Francophone worlds.
