PCC Nsimeyong Dedicates Church Building

Christians of PCC Nsimeyong, Yaounde have been told to rededicate their lives to the glory of God. The call was made on Sunday December 22, 2013 during the dedication service of the house of worship for the PCC Nsimeyong Yaounde.

Christians from across the country joined those of PCC Nsimeyong to celebrate the new church building. In his sermon, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, Rt. Rev. Dr. Festus A. Asana said by dedicating the church to God this gives an opportunity to rededicate their lives to God. "Otherwise it will mean nothing if we dedicate a beautiful building and keep our hearts distanced from God," he said.

Drawing for the epistle of St. Peter (1 Peter: 2:1-10) in the Bible the Rt. Rev. Dr. Festus A. Asana linked the church to the corner stone in the Holy Bible. "By dedicating the church building we give honour to God. We attribute all to God the creator and the giver of all gifts," he said. He called on Christians to keep away from attitudes such as deceitfulness, hypocrisy, envy and gossiping.

He said the dedication should be a milestone in the lives of Christians. He congratulated the Christians of PCC Nsimeyong for the work they have done and called on them not to sleep on their laurels but to continue to work for the glory of God. This was followed by a litany of prayers. Moderator Rt. Rev. Dr. Festus A. Asana prayed that God should strengthen the faith of the Christians of PCC Nsimeyong and that God's presence should continue to dwell in the church. The event was equally an occasion to raise funds for project for the construction of befitting complex for the PCC Nsimeyong church which will host the pastor's house and other services.

The church also recognised the works of former pastors and associate pastors whose contributions have helped in the building of the church as well as elders and Christians for devoted services rendered to the church. The event was marked by unveiling of the commemorative plaque of the event by Moderator Rt. Rev. Festus Asana.

The PCC Nsimeyong main church hall has internal height (headroom) of about 30.45m, a saint arc laminated wood ceiling, as well as up to date ventilation, lighting and acoustics installations. A bird eye or an aerial view of this finished building could be simulated to Noah's Ark in the Bible days.
