PM Yang Decorates Staff

The medal-award ceremony at the Prime Minister's Office took place September 7.

Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang on September 7, 2012 pinned medals of hard work on staff of the Prime Minister's Office awarded by the Grand Chancellor of the National Orders on the occasion of the 2012 National Day celebration. The event greatly departed from previous medal-award ceremonies at the Prime Minister's Office that coincided at the beginning of every year with the presentation of New Year wishes to the Head of Government.

In all, 18 staff received medals with the highest one being Officer of the Cameroon Order of Valour awarded to two senior officials. Six staff received medals of the Knight of the Order of Valour; one Officer of the Order of Merit; five Knight of the Order of Merit and four medals of Public Force. The brief ceremony was witnessed among others by the Prime Minister's close aides and staff of the Prime Minister's Office. Close relations of the laureates while expressing joy also handed to them bouquets of flowers.
