Paul Biya and wife are back in Yaounde

The Presidential Couple have returned to Cameroon after taking part in festivities marking the 70th anniversary of allied landings in Provence, France.

The special aircraft transporting President Paul Biya and wife Chantal Biya landed at the Yaounde - Nsimalen International just before sunset yesterday, 4th September.

They were warmly welcomed by a huge crowd of CPDM supporters who gather at the airport dancings and waving the national flag.

Shortly after greeting the national constituted corps, the Head of State granted brief airport audiences to

• President of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji

• Speacker of the National Assembly Cavay Yeguie Djibril

• the Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh

• Acting Chargé d’affair at the French Embassy in Yaounde. Nothing filtered out of the close door discussions.

As the Presidential motrocarde left the airport, Presient Paul Biya and wife greated Cameroonians who lined up along the itinarary to State House.

The event in France, it is woth noting, was organised pay hommage to the Allied Forces of the Second World War faught to liberate France from Nazi occupation in 1944. Cameroonian soildiers also fought within the ranks of the allied forces.
