Paul Biya expected in Nigeria May 14

The Pan-African weekly Jeune Afrique in its “Confidential” column, indicates that on May 14, Biya will attend an international summit in the Nigerian capital, Abuja. The subject of the conference is the war against Boko Haram. Other heads of states are expected to attend.

The participation of the Head of State Paul Biya, who has been noted to be a great traveler within Cameroon and Africa, is expected to take part in the meeting considering topics to be discussed and the quality of the personalities expected to Abuja.

The Heads of State of member countries of the Commission of the Lake Chad Basin ,that is Niger, Chad and Nigeria the host country of the summit are also expected. Besides these African heads of state, Muhammadu Buhari Nigerian President will also host three Western allies.

“The United States and the United Kingdom will be represented by John Kerry and Philip Hammond their Foreign Ministers. While the French president François Hollande himself will represent France, to show his commitment to security in Africa and … his interest in the Nigerian market, “writes Jeune Afrique.

This summit comes two years after a first summit dedicated to the fight against Boko Haram. In addition to the theme of the conference,The Head of State, calls to respond also to the invitation of Nigerian President made at the end of his visit to Cameroon in July 2015.
