Paul Biya offers 350 million CFA to League Clubs

President Paul Biya has made a special allocation of 350 million FCFA to professional Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs of the Cameroon Championship.

This was revealed at a meeting of the Association of elite clubs of Cameroon (ACEC) held on Friday evening in a hotel at Yaoundé.

According to Faustin Domkeu, president of New Stars of Douala the money is reserved for the Professional Football League (LFPC), and half of it (175 million CFA Francs), has already been wired to the League account.

"We are very pleased to hear that in a few days, Clubs will receive a special grant for the first Cameroonian sportsman, it is something very good. We must congratulate the office of the CPG (Provisional Management Committee) of the League who worked hard for us to receive this money," said Faustin Domkeu after the ACEC meeting.

The other half remains therefore expected. The money will be shared such that 70% will go to clubs, and 30% spent on the current activities of the League.

It should be remembered that the Clubs are still waiting for the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education to make a payment of the second and final allowance of the grant given by the State.

An amount of 260 million francs of the overall amount of 560 million is left, with a first amount of 300 million already paid.
