Paul Biya returns to Geneva again after New York trip

The president of the Republic ,Paul Biya has not returned to Cameroon after New York. Like many leaders of the world, the President of the Republic took part in the 71st General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) which took place between 20 and 26 September 2016. Immediately after the meeting in the United States, most of Heads of States and Governments returned to their respective countries.

But “The lion man”, is still abroad.According to the French daily le Nouvelle Expression, Paul Biya flew to Geneva in Switzerland,where the presidential couple usually spends their vacations.Biya flew in to Yaounde on September 9, 2016 from Geneva after spending two weeks in Switzerland.

The paper also stresses that Paul Biya has accustomed Cameroonians with a habit of not returning home whenever he attends the summit of Heads of States out of the African continent.

For this reason, the National President of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), could not attend Tuesday’s inauguration of Ali Bongo elected for a second term at the head of Gabon.Biya was represented by the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Laurent Esso.
