Peter Essoka dragged to court over suspension

A direct summon was served to him yesterday by Mr. Micheline Tchimdou Mekieage for the case against Amougou Belinga.

"I'll continue to accuse Peter Essoka for abuse of authority and blackmail. A direct summon will be served to him on Monday at the latest", the CEO of the group L'Anecdote, Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga, said in a press conference at the headquarters of his business in Nsam neighborhood in Yaounde on Friday November 28.

It was finally yesterday, December 3 that the bailiff, Mr. Tchimdou Mekieage Micheline, presented a direct summon to the Vice President of the National Communication Council (CNC), the former journalist, Peter Essoka.

The summons mandates him "to appear in person on December 18, 2014 at 7:30 am before the Court of First Instance of Yaounde …”

In fact, on November 27, 2014, a statement released at 8 pm on the national news on CRTV signed by the Vice President of the CNC temporarily suspending four television journalists of Vision 4 Group L'Anecdote. These are Obama Nana Ernest Dieudonné (six months), Perfect Ayissi Etoa (three months), Ines Arielle Zambo (one month) and Romeo Cyriaque Mbida (one month). The release accused them of being authors of "consecutive faults that affect the ethics and professional ethics in social communication," continues the statement.

Amougou Belinga (whose advisors, Mr Bibibano Biock and Joseph Bayiha, lawyers of the Bar of Cameroon) takes offense against this decision of the CNC, which he calls "violation of the regulations, which affect the rights or private interests of the accused, abusing his office by overzealous ignorance of law".
