Pierre Désiré Engo summoned to court over embezzlement

Pierre Désiré Engo, former director general of the National Social Insurance Fund (CNPS) was on Thursday summoned by the special criminal court (CHT). This was the first time he has returned to this institution since his release.

The case has been referred to February 23, 2015 noted Francis Claude Moukoury, president of the college of judges. This is a continuation of his case of embezzlement of an amount of 25 billion CFA francs. The matter was delayed pending further examination of information before the magistrate.

In the decision by the CHT, he has been ordered a warrant of committal in this case. But the decision restricts his freedom of movement. It was accompanied by prohibition from leaving the national territory and the obligation to appear before the tribunal at the solicitation of the judge, etc. He therefore remains in prison because he was sentenced in a previous case.
