Police Arrests Two for Shoe Theft

The elements of the Rapid intervention Unit in Douala have arrested two individuals suspected to having broken into a shop in Akwa specialized in the sale of shoes. The two bandits, Njifon Alassa and Martial Nguiko Nono were arrested at the Rue Pau neighborhood in Akwa on the night of September 30 with 12 bags of shoes.

They have just broken into a magazine specialised in the sale of shoes and were about transporting their booty. Thanks to the rapidity of the elements of the Rapid Intervention Unit who arrived the scene on time to put an end to their criminal action.

Upon seeing the policemen, the two robbers tried to escape using a taxi immatriculated LT 831 BW. But they were caught in their flight by the swift boys of ESIR, led by Police Inspector, Desire Roland Biakolo Biakolo, who had circumscribed the area.

By the time of their detention, they had 12 bags of shoes and other items carefully parked inside the taxi. With their booty together with the taxi, they were taken to the Central Police Station No.1 in Bonanjo for further investigations.
