He was among a gang that carried out several attacks and plundered homes in Bonaberi.

An armed robber suspect has been shot dead by Rapid Intervention Unit police in Douala. The 20-year-old young man whose name the police got as Pappy was shot after the gang wrecked havoc at the Bamboutos neighbourhood in Bonaberi last week.

Police, acting on tip off, rushed to the scene as the robbers quickly vamoosed, but Pappy who was hiding inside a culvert leading to a nearby stream attempted to open fire but was overpowered and killed in the process. A further search of the area led to the discovery and arrest of Jacob Ritygap. In the hand of the latter was a well-sharpened double-edged machete, two mobile phones, an MTN Sim card and FCFA 5,000.

Upon interrogation, Ritygap declared that the gun they were using was owned by the late Pappy.
